Paula is passionate on healing and caring about others through physiotherapy. She has found throughout her studies and long career that the combination of manual therapy and movement in the rehabilitating and prevention injuries, has an amazing and long-lasting results.
Paula has a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy, a Post-Graduation in Orthopaedic and Traumatology Physiotherapy, a Master’s degree in Bioengineering and a Doctorate degree in Science. She is also fully trained in the Pilates Method. When treating, Paula uses soft tissue release techniques and exercise-based therapy to help patients rehabilitate through injuries. Furthermore, with more than 16 years of experience using Pilates exercises, she is passionate about using this Method, especially when treating and preventing spine injuries and pathologies.
Paula is avidly involved in several physical activities. She loves running, mountain biking, hiking, practicing CrossFit and Pilates. The combination of those brought her the resistance and strength take on mountaineering. Paula has climbed several mountains, including Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and other high-altitude peaks through South America.
As per her personal experience, she understands how frustrating an injury can be. For this reason, with her extensive academic knowledge and clinical experience on biomechanics, Paula strives to educate her patients throughout the way. Her goal, when treating patients is always to get them back to the activities they love, but also making sure they understand what caused their injury, and what they can do to prevent it from happening again.
Paula also enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and you can see her in town in a stroller run or a chariot bike ride bringing along her two little ones.
